
| 1. | kuşkusuz ki tüm zamanların en iyi bir iki konsept albümünden bir tanesidir bu dream theater şaheseri. 1992'de çıkardıkları images and words albümünden metropolis pt1 : the miracle and the sleeper şarkısının devamı olarak tasarlanmıştır bu albüm. 7 yıl öncesinden düşünüldüğü belli olan bu fikir bile ne denli muhteşem bir albüm olduğunun bir göstergesidir.
albüm sizi çok hoş bir enstrümantal parça ile karşılar petrucci yine döktürmektedir* ardından bu parça mükemmel bir tamamlayıcı ile devam eder la brie'ye hoşgeldin deriz*.daha ilk parçalardan ilginç bir duygu kaplar içimizi , çünkü çalanları sanki önceden duymuş gibiyizdir*,albümün konseptine de cuk oturan bir durumdur bu. ardından hoşgeldiniz faslı biter dt'nin klasik balladlarından biriyle karşı karşıya olduğumuzu düşünürüz fakat bu sadece ilerisi için bir sinyaldir , bu rüyanın* sonlarına doğru uyanmaya başlarız. hayatımız boyunca duyup duyabileceğimiz en anlamlı geçiş yaşanır , duygularımız sanki o eve yaklaşan nicholas gibi hüzünden korkuya , tedirginliğe döner. o anda başlar john myung'ın muhteşem bestesi ve petrucci ile birlikte belki de albümün en gaz şarkısı* geçer gider. sırada grubun uyumunu muhteşem bir şekilde sergileyen 11 dakikalık bir parça vardır* ki bu parçanın sonundaki petrucci jordan rudess ortak yapımı sololar , onları çalanların insan olmadığını düşündürtür adama. bu tempo en sonunda biraz yavaşlar ve ilk kısmın sonlarına doğru dream theater'dan yien muhteşem bir ballad* gelir.bu parça ile karakterlerle iyice bütünleşir kendimiz onların yerine koyarız , albüm bizi içine çekmiştir. "and i know what it's like to loose someone you loved and this felt just the same" ikinci kısım başlarken kuşkusuz albümün* en sevilen şarkısını* dinleriz.petrucci , portnoy , myung , rudess , la brie bu parçada kendilerinden beklenenin kat kat fazlasını bizlere sergiler. albüm durmak bilmez bizi kendine dahil ettiği ve beklentileri daha şimdiden verdiği gibi bir de konsept olayını yarıp parçalayıp alır götürür bizi ilk parçanın bittiği noktaya*. yine bu parça hiç bitmemiş gibi devam eder albüm , arada kendimize geleceğimiz hikayeyi öte yandan septik damarımızı kabartan bir öte yandan da bir anlamda 1928'de yaşanan hikayeyi son noktasına getiren sevgililerin kavuşamadığı bölüme gelmişizdir artık*. bu noktada albüm home'dan sonra ikinci kez bizi zirveye çıkarır , muhteşem bir parça ve teknik melodik atmosferik her türlü açıdan insanı isyana götüren* bir solo ve parçanın yavaşça rudess'in piyano tuşlarına vurduğu darbelerle sona ulaşan bir mutluluk ve aynı zamanda apışma noktası.(bkz. orgazm) ölen ölmüş kalan kalmış yaran yarmıştır* artık yapacak tek şey konsepte uygun bağlamaya yapmak , tefi tarağa toplayıp new york'a* gitmektir. mike portnoy gazını alamaz çalmaya devam eder ama onun da en son fişi çekilir yaka paça uçağa bindirilir. ve netice itibariyle bu albüm alır adamı evirir çevirir dağıtır en son da bi masaj yapar* atar kenara. insan bir albümden başka ne ister ki**. konsepti anlatmanın da inşallah bir başka giride bir başka arkadaşa nasip olmasını dileyerek* reşat nuri güntekin romanı kılıklı bu giriye burada son noktayı koyuyorum.
