- avrupa'da hiphop amerikadaki gibi zencilerin elindeydi belli bir zamana kadar. fransa ve almanya avrupa rapinde başı çekiyordu. ingiliz repçiler anadillerinin rap'in de orjinal dili olan ingilizce olmasına rağmen rep olayında fransız ve almanlar kadar piyasaya hakim değillerdi. üstelik fransız ve almanlar fransızca ve almanca gibi hiç de alışık olunmayan dillerde rap yapıyorlardı. (benim kişisel görüşüm fransızcanın ingilizceden sonra rap'e en yatkın dil olduğu yönündedir)
buna rağmen hiphop'un kardeşi triphop, ingiltere bristol'den yükseliyordu. acidjazz da bir yandan tütüyordu ingiltere'de. ingiltere'de hiphop, triphop ve acidjazz underground'dan ilerliyordu.
ne olduysa oldu (sanırım ingiltere'de brit-pop can çekişiyorken) mike skinner diye bir safkan anglo-sakson piyasaya çıktı mtv'yi arkasına aldı ve daha önce hiç kimsenin duymadığı bir stille parsayı topladı. bu adam ilk albümü original pirate material'ı evinde yapmıştı!
eminem ve 50 cent gibi yeteneksizlerin silinmesi için gereken hiphop devrimi, olması gereken kıtada gerçekleşmemişti. ingiliz bir çocuk kalkıp tüm amerikalılara hip hop dersi vermişti. ll cool j bile control myself gibi bir şarkı yapıyorsa vay hip hop'ın haline diyor. tüm bunları 11 senelik yoğun hiphop geçmişime dayanarak söylediğimi belirtmek istiyorum.
