blind guardian'ın 2002 çıkışlı son stüdyo albümü "a night at the opera"da bulunan, ünlü fantezi karakteri raistlin majere'ye ithafen yazdığı parça. grup albüm çıkmadan önce resmi sitesinde bir anket düzenlemiş ve dinleyenlerine hangi fantezi karakteri hakkında parça yapmalarını istediklerini sormuştu. bu ankette raistlin az farkla drizzt'i geçerek birinci olmuştur. albümün en iyi parçalarında biridir.

blind guardianın vasat şarkısı fekat dinledikçe daha da güzel geliyor. bir de buna benzer lake of tears- raistlin and rose vardır ki o daha güzel*. şu da bi gerçek ki raistlin and rose parçasından çok daha fazla geniş almış raistini.gençlik yılları ve neler hissettiği anlatılmış şarkıda.

14 mayıs 2006 konserlerinde avazım çıktığı kadar çaresizce bağarmama neden olmuş şarkı ama yinede sesim duyulmamış ve playlist de olmayan bu parça çalınmamıştır

şarkı dinlenmeye başlamadan önce kitabın başında yer alan şu kısım okununca işler daha bir güzelleşir;

"eski demirciler tarafından üretilen alışımlar.. bir demir cevheri ve kömür kütlesinin, basınçlı çekişi olan bir demirci ocağı ya da döveni içinde ısıtılmasıyla elde edilirdi. bu işlem sonucunda cevher, madeni katkılar ve kömür külünden oluşan bir cüruf ile dolu madeni demirden bir süngere çevrilirdi. bu demir sünger hala akkor halindeyken ocaktan alınır ve içindeki cürufu çıkartmak ve demiri sıkıştırmak ve sağlamlaştırmak için ağır balyozlarla dövülürdü.. ara sıra, bu demir üretme tekniğinin ürünü olarak, kazara, gerçek 'çelik' meydana gelirdi..."

yıllar sonra bile "i see death through golden eyes" kısmı duyulduğunda insanın içini bir hoş yapan şarkı.
