- mtv nin tüm müzik piyasasına hakim olması ve popüler kültürün tavan yapması rock müzik yapan ya da dinleyen kişiler tarafından rock is dead demesine yol açmış.tabiki bu sadece söylemde kalmış değişen bir şey olmamış,aksine mtv ye çıkan yeni yetme gruplarının sloganı olmuştur.
