bir gün canım sıkıldı ve playlist'imde olan bütün şarkıları lyric'lerini okuyarak söylemeye karar verdim. cats in the cradle'ı büyük bir zevkle söyledim ve sonuna doğru hüzünlendim bile. 'vay be işte şarkı dediğin böyle olur!' dedim ve yattım. sabah kalktığımdaysa şarkının bir baba ve oğul ile olduğu hariç aklımda hiç bir şey kalmamıştı şarkı adına. akşam arkadaşıma göstermek istedim böyle bir şarkı var diyerek; ancak 2 saatlik tamı tamına 2 saatlik aramalarıma rağmen bulamadım şarkıyı. ve günlerden bugün yani o şarkıyı ilk ve son dinlememden 1 hafta sonra shuffle'ın yardımıyla buldum şarkıyı. duyar duymaz tanıdım...
bir daha hiç unutmamacasına dedim. türk filmi repliği söyler gibi...
yaygın kanının aksine bir cat stevens şarkısı değildir; 1974 tarihli bir harry chapin şarkısıdır. cat stevens "bu şarkıyı ne herhangi bir stüdyoda, ne de herhangi bir konserde söyledim. evde tek başımayken bile söylemedim lan bunu!" diye açıklama yapmış hatta zamanında.
