the perfect element teki gibi gaz değildir ancak bi şarkıyı farklı bir gamdan çalmak bir şarkıyı ne kadar değiştirebilir sorusuna mükemmel bir cevaptır.
12:5 albümündeki diğer şarkılar gibi bunda da back vokaller deli gibi zengindir...ilk versionda pompalanan nefret duygusu bu cover da yerini acı çeken sevgi kelebeği moduna bırakır...

- gildenlow (rtn 2004te söylediği üzere) 15 yaşında yazmıştır bu şarkıyı. tabi aynen the perfect elementtaki haliyle mi yazmıştı, sonradan ayar çekti mi, orası meçhul.
- sıkı bir pain of salvation dinleyicisi olmamanın da verdiği rahatlıkla, yapıp yapabilecekleri en güzel şarkının ashes olduğunu düşünmekteyim. bundan daha vurucu yazılamaz&söylenemezdi sanırım.
