- dream theater'ın 23:07 lik aşmış, yarmış parçası. aynı zamanda albümede adını vermiştir. 1995'de yayınlandı albüm.

- dream theater'ın favorileri arasında yer alan, uzun mu uzun mükemmel sololarla donatılmış parçası
- guruptaki her elemanın en iyisi bu dediği ve özellikle john petrucci'nin üstünde çok çalıştığı olağan üstü güzel ve uzun parça.
- konserlerde çalmadan önce sinevizyonda ölü ozanlar derneği'nden gather ya rosebuds while ya may ... sözlerinin okunduğu kısımlar gösteriliyor. helende bis'te istenmişse şarkı o insanlar* nasıl bayılmadan ayakta duruyor hayret ediyorum.
- p2p'lerde dolaşan videosunu izledikten sonra başta john myung olmak üzere tüm dt elemanlarlarının parmaklarını, ellerini öpesim geldi o derece. hele bazı kısımlar oluyor ki insan olduklarından şüphe duyuyor insan. ayrıca bu video'yu izledikten sonra james labrie'de hafif nonoşluk olduğunu keşfettim.
- yaklaşık 23 dakka sürmesine rağmen insanı baymayan müthiş ezgilere sahip dream theater şaheseri.
- şarkıda robert herrick'in carpe diem felsefesi üzerine ünlü bir şiirinden (bkz: to the virgins to make much of time) alıntı* vardır.aynı dörtlük dead poets societyde de kullanılmışıtır.

- 7 telli gitarım olmadığı için 6 telli gitarımlan çalmaya çalışıp kendimi tatmin ettiğim, 23.03 dakikalık müzikal orgazm.
- bu albüm hakkında yorum yapmak gerçekten anlamsız geliyor.dream theater üyeleri insan olmadıklarını açıkça gösteriyorlar bu albümde.

- 1995’de yayınladıkları bir tür ep içeriğine sahip olan aynı zamanda daha önceki albümlere sığmayan, albüm ile aynı adı taşıyan 23 dakikalık bir şarkı ve konserlerde söyledikleri cover şarkılarla desteklenen bir dream theater albümü. adamların müzikal performansını defalarca göz önüne seriyor oluşundan, sözcüklerle ifade edilemeyecek bi boyutta.

- gençliğimizde öncelikle albüm kapağı ile alıp götürmüş dt albümüdür. arka tarafta takvim yaprakları uçuşurken oturan ağbimizde geleceğimizdir aslında da o zaman farkında değildik haliyle. medley yapmak için illaki konser mi vermek gerekir gazı ile başlayıp, sonunu getiremedikleri parça olmuş çıkmıştır. araya serpiştirildiğinde tadından yenmez. özellikle liquid tension experiment şarkıları ile birleştiğinde...
- müzikal ziyafet tanımına uyan enden şarkılardan birisidir.. keyifle çalınır, dinlenir, izlenir.. başka bir 23 dakikalık türdaşı için (bkz: echoes)

- dream theater ın en muhteşem şarkısı. vokal, gitar, bateri harikadır. zaman zaman coşturur zaman zaman eskilere götürür insanı. her duyguyu en içtenlikle yaşatan fakat 13:00 dan sonra ise hüzüne bürünen bir rüya gibi...

- parçaya hakim melodi en az pink floyd'un echoes'taki ana melodi kadar etkileyicidir. ancak daha bir duygusal hissiyat uyandırıyor sanırım echoes'a kıyasla. yok bu da içime sinmedi, echoes da ayrı bir etkiye sahip. ikisi de süresi ve kusursuzluk açısından birbirine benzeyen parçalardır aslında. bir de gene bu iki kritere uyan blackrose immortal var ki daha da farklı belki ama o da başka bir kulvarda başyapıttır.

- john myung ın şahsi fikrimce compressorden boku çıkmamış tuşesini belli eden adamakıllı bas tonu kullandığı tek albümdür. albümün b yüzündeki cover parçalar dahil hatta onlarda daha da iyi. tabi şahsi fikrim.
- özellikle new york konserinde ki canlı performansı harika olan şarkı.13. dakika da başlayan solo inanılmazdır.
